Memphis, Day 2

Published by at 10:06 pm under mission trip

Well, we made it, no problems. They’re really keeping us busy, so not much time to post photos. I’m still using my cell phone connection, and it’s really slow. They have a wireless network, but I’m going to have to find out the password to access it.

Everyone got up pretty early this morning so we could get here on time, so I think we’ll all sleep well tonight.

There are 10 other groups here, about 180 people I think. We will ALL be roofing this week, so that should be interesting.  I think since we are the first groups of the summer, they start with roofing and work their way down.

Here are a few photos from today…

The facilities are very nice, although it’s a bit warm in the sleeping area right now. Everything is very well organized, from the activities here to what they have lined up for the job sites.

A little volleyball..

Lots of BIG pictures hanging on the walls, pretty cool 🙂  They also have group pictures on the walls from previous groups.  Seems most of the groups have been United Methodists, we saw a couple from VA, one from Reston and one from Williamsburg…and I guess now there will be one from Madison!  The groups here are from all over, I think there is one from Chicago, one from Texas, and maybe another from Alabama.  Can’t remember the rest.
