MCHS Volleyball vs Clarke

Things were a little different tonight…I guess that’s good for varsity, but not so good for JV. JV lost their first district match to Clarke tonight 2-0. And, varsity won their first district match defeating Clarke 3-1. (that blue button over there will take you to the galleries)

Logan Terrell, with fans pointing the way, scores the winning touchdown, putting Madison up 21-14 over Page.

From the MCHS Athletics website: Varsity Football Wins 21-14 Over Page County
The Varsity Football team remained undefeated tonight with a hard fought 21-14 win over Page County on Homecoming Night. The Mountaineers jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the 1st quarter but couldnt put the Panthers away. Page scored a touchdown in the 2nd quarter to make it 14-7 Madison at the half and then tied the game at 14 in the fourth but Madison’s Logan Terrell went around the right side for a 62 yard touchdown run with 4:00 to play and the defense hung on for the win. Terrell finished with 2 touchdowns and 127 yards rushing and Devon Boone added 78 yards on the ground as well. Ryan Banks caught a 42 yard touchdown pass from Will Taylor.

MCHS Volleyball vs Strasburg

The JV girls picked up their second district win of the week defeating Strasburg 2-0.

The varsity girls picked up their second district loss of the week, falling to Strasburg 3-0.

MCHS Cross Country vs Clarke, Strasburg, and George Mason

First Place, Kenny Lohr

Kenny Lohr finished first for the guys, with no one else really in sight….well, if you look really hard, you can see a little Clarke guy just cresting the hill behind him.  (You can click on the pictures to go to the galleries of images…or that blue button over there)  Final results and times are below.

Clare Moretz and Ashley Sealander placed third and fifth overall for the girls.

From the MCHS Athletics website: Cross Country Hosts Meet
The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams hosted Clarke, Strasburg and George Mason this afternoon. The Boys finished third and the Girls finished 2nd. Kenny Lohr (17:59) finished 1st overall setting a new course record. He was followed by Hunter Welch (19:19), Nathaniel Hartwig (19:29) and Joe Heller (19:30). Clare Moretz (20:47) finished 3rd and Ashley Sealander (21:32) finished 5th. Bekah O’Connell (25:09), Amanda Tharp (26:07) and Anne Marie McLean (26:32) also ran great races.

MCHS Varsity Football vs Luray

From the MCHS Athletics website:  “Varsity Football Rolls Over Luray 40-7
The Varsity Football team beat Luray tonight 40-7. The Mountaineers Logan Terrell ran 60 yards for a touchdown on the opening play of the first quarter and never looked back. Terrell ran for 126 yards and 4 touchdowns on the night. His running mate, Devon Boone ran for 137 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Will Taylor threw for 144 yards including a touchdown pass to Dylan Shifflette who caught 4 passes for 92 yards and a score[photo above]. The Madison defense continues to look impressive, shutting out the Bulldogs until the final minute of the game.”
