MCHS Boy’s Soccer vs Orange

Published by under mchs,orange,soccer

The varsity boy’s soccer game ended in a 1-1 tie, with Shep Waldenberger (below) scoring Madison’s goal in the second half to tie the game.

..and a couple of header shots…just ’cause I like header pictures…

The JV boys lost to Orange 5-0, at least that’s what I counted, it looked like the scoreboard said 6-0, but it was kinda hard to tell…

28-1….

….not the way we expected it to end.  Thanks for a great season guys!!

This is a nice post on the VA Preps forum…says what we’re all feeling better than I could:

We just wanted to thank the entire 2008-2009 boys basketball team and staff for an incredible season. But not just that. We know you are disappointed in not accomplishing your final goal. But you have no need to hang your heads. We (the Mountaineer faithful) could not be more proud of the effort you put forth, the way you played the game, and the positive things you have done in the community.

You have definitely brought “Madison Pride” back. Not only because of your stellar record on the court but because of your character. We are sure that you felt a great deal of pressure from the community. You handled that pressure better than much older folks could have.

Recently, one of the youth league basketball coaches (7-8 year olds) overheard his players, during practice, calling each other by different names. When he asked what was going on, he was informed by a 7 year old that they were deciding who was going to be Logan, Jerel, David, Sam, Casey, Matt, Andre, etc.

You guys have had a positive effect from the youth to us old timers and for that we are eternally grateful. Congratulations and thank you!!!!!

Note to Board of Supervisors: When we build the new gym…we’ve obviously outgrown this one and will need a new one by next year…please install lights like those in the Siegel Center.  The color from those lights is wonderful!

Okay, so we stopped by the Apple Store in Short Pump…

Here’s the plan…

…for those of you who can’t attend the State Semi Final game at the Siegel Center.

  1. Click on the Morcast button over on the right side of the page and listen to Taylor Mickelberry call the game.  The Morcast page will open in a new window.  You can find the full list of games that Morcast is calling here.
  2. Next, check out this link.  It is updated with Live Stats from the game that is currently being played at the Siegel Center.
  3. I will be attempting something new.  Let’s hope it works.  I am planning on transmitting photos from Madison’s game “semi” live (between plays, when I get the chance).  They will be added to the slideshow below as the game goes on.  You will need to refresh this page from time to time to see the new photos that are added. Ok, so that didn’t work.  Couldn’t get onto the WiFi network at the Siegel Center….back to the drawing board….
