MCHS Softball-Madison vs Bath State Semi Finals at VA Tech

Published by at 9:08 pm under mchs, softball,State Championships

Madison played the Bath Chargers today in the Virginia Group A, Division 1 State Semi Finals and ended their season with a 1-0 loss.  It was a “pitcher’s dual” from the beginning, Madison’s Jordan Aylor vs Bath’s Jailyn Ford.  Neither pitcher allowed a baserunner until the third inning when Bath finally got a hit.  The score was still 0-0 going into the seventh, when the Chargers put a couple of hits together to go up 1-0.  Jailyn Ford gave up only one hit for the game, Anna Kelliher hit a little bloop just over the shortstop’s glove.  Jordan Aylor only allowed four hits in the game.  Bath advances to play Holston (who defeated William Campbell today 4-3 in 8 innings) in the State Championship tomorrow at VA Tech.

In unrelated sports news, Page’s baseball team defeated Parry McCluer today 7-4 to advance to the State Finals.  And in Group A girl’s soccer, it will be an all Bull Run District final with George Mason taking on Clarke for the State Championship on Saturday at noon.
