Published by under clarke,cross country,mchs,strasburg

The Madison girls were led today by Caitlyn Shilan, and the boys by Daniel Comyn (don’t have times).  The girls team finished second behind Strasburg, the boys team came in third. (click on Caitlyn’s or Daniel’s picture to go to the respective galleries)

Mushrooms

Published by under landscape

I missed the peak here at our house…too many games…but I did get out this evening to take a few of these.  These first two were taken with point and shoot, they focus really closely (on the “Flower” setting) and the image quality these days is excellent.  I’ve thought about getting a macro lens for my DSLRs, but the point and shoots are so small, I can put them right on the ground and shoot UP at the mushrooms…..and I like that angle of view 🙂

These were taken yesterday at Greene Hills Country Club, in between shooting Bull Run District golfers….

Golf – Bull Run District Tournament

The Bull Run District Golf Tournament was held at Greene Hills Country Club for the first time today.  Seven teams competed:  Madison, William Monroe, Clarke, Strasburg, Manassas Park, Central Woodstock, and George Mason.  At the moment, I don’t have any results, they should be on MCHSAthletics.org soon.

A few random favorites, you can click any photo to see the whole gallery….all 456 of them!

Homecoming – Madison Varsity Football vs Manassas Park

Abbie wins…..Madison loses…..

Madison lost tonight 54-14 to the Cougars.  Manassas Park scored in the first 45 seconds of the game, and it was mostly downhill from there.

The highlight of the night was the crowning of MCHS’s 2011 Homecoming Queen, and that honor went to Abbie White tonight.

MCHS Volleyball vs Orange

Published by under mchs,orange,volleyball

Madison varsity volleyball picked up another win tonight, defeating Orange 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-8).  The second set was the only one that was somewhat close, the score was back and forth for most of that one.  The other two were pretty much all Madison.

Madison’s JV girls had a little tougher time with Orange, struggling during the second set, but when they won, they won decisively (25-6, 24-26, 15-6).

The student section was a bit quiet during the JV match.....
