U of R Men’s Track needs your help

Published by under track and field

You remember Clare Moretz right?  She won FOUR individual State Championships for Madison while she was at MCHS.  She now runs track for the University of Richmond, and has also competed with the U.S. Mountain Running Team.  Well, U of R CUT the Men’s Track Team last week.  Gone.  She is helping with a petition to the school to reinstate the team.  CLICK THIS LINK, or the photo below, to sign the petition.  It only take a few seconds.  And pass this along to everyone you know!

Albemarle at Orange Varsity Football

Published by under football

I shot the Albemarle Patriots at Orange Hornets varsity football game last night.  Orange got clobbered 37-0.  They just couldn’t get anything going last night.  Here’s a little slideshow over on ScrimmagePlay, and you can click any of the photos below to see the entire gallery.

Madison’s JV football team defeated Manassas Park tonight 26-0, and are now 2-1 for the season.  Mountaineer touchdowns by Gabe Farmer, Isaiah Smith (on 70-80 punt return), C.J. O’Berry on pass from quarterback Chris Smith, and Brad Goolsby on interception.

MCHS Cross Country vs Manassas Park and Central Woodstock

Cross Country meet today out at Hoover Ridge between Madison, Manassas Park, and Central Woodstock.  I don’t have any results other than I think Caitlin Shilan finished second overall and first for Madison in the girl’s race, and Daniel Comyn finished second overall and first for Madison in the boy’s race.

MCHS Volleyball vs Clarke

Published by under clarke,mchs,volleyball

Madison won the first set 25-1, then lost the next two sets to the Clarke Eagles 20-25 and 21-25.  The Lady Mountaineers took an early lead and held on to win the fourth set 25-19 and force the fifth and final set.  Clarke jumped out to an early 7-3 lead, but Madison came back to win 15-12, and take the match 3-2.  Madison is now 3-0 in Bull Run District play, and Clarke falls to 2-1.

And in other BRD news, I saw on Twitter that Mason swept Strasburg 3-0 tonight.  Not sure I’ve ever heard such a thing before.  Things are a bit shook up in the BRD this year!

Madison’s JV volleyball team also won tonight, defeating Clarke 2-0 (25-17, 25-17)
