Madison vs Honaker-VHSL Group A, D1 State Softball Finals
SO close….Madison came within inches of a State Championship this morning. The game was scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when Madison pitcher Lauren Seale hit a triple to the opposite field, the ball landing right on the right foul line, and Seale scored on a throwing error at third. Honaker answered back in the bottom of the sixth when, with two runners on base and two outs, Honaker pitcher Emily Kendrick hit a home run that just tipped off the top of Sam Atwell’s glove. A couple inches lower and Sam would have robbed her and ended the inning. The game ended a great season for Madison, their first time in the Softball State Finals since their State Championship win in ’95. (click any image below to see the gallery)
