In the first semi final tonight, William Monroe defeated Warren County 3-0.  They advance to the finals and will play Madison, here in Madison, at 7:00pm.  (click the photo below to see the William Monroe vs Warren photos)

Madison played Clarke tonight in the other BRD semi….and that one was never even close….Madison swept Clarke 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-10) and will play Monroe in the final Saturday night.  And in other news, senior setter Bailey Colvin came into the match with 606 assists for the season, and added 25 for the match.  Her season total is now 631, a new MCHS record.  Culpeper Star Exponent article on the match.

Madison swept Central Woodstock tonight 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-11) in the Bull Run District Quarter Finals, and advances to play Clarke on Thursday night, here in Madison, in the BRD Semi’s.  William Monroe and somebody will play in the first semi final match at 6:00pm, and Madison/Clarke will play after.  (click a photo below to see the gallery from tonight’s match)

The Lady Mountaineers celebrated their Senior Night with a 3-0 sweep of George Mason to end their season undefeated and as Bull Run District Champions for the fourth year in a row.  Seven senior played their last regular season home game in Madison, Sam Atwell, Kaley Aylor, Logan Coates, Bailey Colvin, Cassity Lacy, Maggie Salmon, and Sheridan Santinga.  And the “icing on the cake”, yes, there was a cake, was the announcement that Bailey Colvin is Newsplex.com’s Student Athlete of the Week!  (link below)

I was thinking I’d post an action picture of each of the seniors….but somehow I stumbled upon these….and couldn’t resist  🙂
