Frequently asked questions and other information

You are able to order from all the galleries that are currently on BerrySports.com in one order. Once you create an account, you’re also able to save your cart and checkout at a later time, or even from a different computer!! Also, after creating your account, you will have the option to add photos to your “Favorites” list. You can then just go to this list to choose which photos you would like to add to your cart and purchase. I’m pretty excited about all of this, and I hope you find it helpful. Some things have changed, particularly with discounts, so please read below and let me know if you have questions. I’ll be updating pages and making corrections as problems are found. My contact information is below, or you can click here to fill out a form that will be emailed to me.

I have a question, how do I get in touch with you?
Please understand that I have a full time job to go along with my photography so I greatly prefer communication by email because it allows me some flexibility. I check email several times a day whether I’m at work or at home, so you should receive a reply rather quickly. However, since some things are better discussed by phone, you may call me during the day on my cell phone at 540-718-3662 or in the evenings at 540-543-2580. Voice mail is available for both numbers, so if I don’t answer, leave me a message, a phone number, and a good time to reach you, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

How long do you leave pictures online?
Currently, all of the sports galleries are set to expire on June 30th each year. There is a 10% “Early Bird Discount” for ordering within 30 days of the date the gallery is first posted. So, if you are ordering individual prints, it’s less expensive if you order within 30 days of the gallery posting. If you are ordering a collage and one or more of the images selected for the collage is eligible for the “Early Bird Discount”, then the entire collage will be discounted. This SHOULD allow you to wait until the end of the season to place your order for a collage and still receive the discount.

How do I pay for my photos?
You have the option of paying with a credit card, Paypal, or mailing me a check.
The Checkout Process: Once you have added your images to your shopping cart and clicked the “Checkout” link, you will be asked to confirm your shipping address. (At this point, you have the option of having your photos shipped to a different address than the one you entered when you signed up for your account.) Click the “Continue” button and you will have a final opportunity to review your order. If you are happy with everything, click the “Place this order” button. You will receive an email that includes your order number and a link to a printable copy of your order. You then have the option of mailing me a check for payment (I don’t process your order until I receive payment) or paying with credit card or Paypal (you don’t need to sign up for a Paypal account, you can just pay with a credit card. Paypal does the credit card processing for me) If you are mailing me a check, please include the order number in the Memo area of the check.

When do I get my pictures?
Each photo that you order is color corrected and cropped to fit the specific print size(s) that you order. Photos are then sent to a professional lab for printing and shipped back to me. Once I receive your photos back from the lab, I will mail them out to you by U.S. Postal Service. You will generally receive your photos in the mail within two weeks from the time that you order them. Small orders (one or two 4×6’s) may take a little longer. There is a minimum order charge from the lab and I will sometimes have to hold smaller orders until I get another order to go along with them.

Will my pictures look better than what is online?
Yes! The pictures that are online are downsized and compressed for faster web viewing. Your prints are made from the original, high resolution files. I do basic color correction and crop before posting images to the web, but once I receive an order for an image, I go back to the original file, recrop to the size print you have ordered, and do a final color correction on the image. Your satisfaction is guarenteed. If you are unhappy with the prints that you receive, you may return them within ten days for a full refund, or credit.

Do you sell digital images?
I do now for sports images, you can buy a low resolution file for web use or display on your phone, and you can also by the high resolution version for printing.  The low resolution version MIGHT look okay printed small, but I wouldn’t go larger than wallets or a 4×6.  The digital files aren’t sold off my regular BerrySports.com website because the shopping cart doesn’t support storing the high resolution images.  If you’d like digital sports images, click this link to go to my archive site.

Why do I have to register to add images to my shopping cart?
You don’t really have to register to add items to your cart, but you do need to register to keep them stored there. It’s just a lot easier if you register first. You’ll also have the ability to add pictures to your “Favorites” list so you can find them more easily later. By registering an account, you are able to keep items in your shopping cart for a long period of time. Additionally, you will be able to view your orders and private galleries (if available) by having an account. If, at any time, you need to change or update your information (mailing address, email address, phone number, etc.), you can just click on the “My Info” link at the top of the page.

Will the pictures I select stay in my shopping cart?
Yes. Your pictures will stay in your shopping cart until you either place the order or delete them yourself. But you need to register before your close you browser in order to have your pictures stored in your cart.

I can’t seem to log in.
Log in information is case sensitive, be sure you have entered it correctly. If you have forgotten your password, click on the “Home” link above and in the “Log In” box, click on “Remind Me”. You will be asked for the email address that you used to register, after you click “Remind Me”, your password will be emailed to you.

Does it cost anything to register for an account?
Nope.

I have been sent access information for a gallery, what do I do?
Click the Access Gallery link. Enter in the access code on that page. If correct, you will be able to view the gallery. If you have an account and are logged in, then you will only have to do this once and this gallery will be listed in My Pictures.

What is My Pictures?
My Pictures are galleries that have limited access to them that you have access to.

Do you do other types of photography besides sports?
Sure! I like to do some scenic and wildlife photography, and have a friend who is a helicopter pilot so I do some aerial photos from time to time also. I’ve been getting some requests for family portraits lately and occaisionally do a wedding. Family portraits will be done at your home or a location of your choice. I don’t have a studio and prefer using natural light for portraits.
