…these photos were taken with a small point and shoot camera that was set to take a photo every 5 seconds until the card was full. It took 977 photos before filling the card, and didn’t quite last for the time we were there. But, made for some interesting photos. It has a very wide angle lens, so there is some distortion, but I think in this case it makes the photos more interesting. Ahhh yesss, a nice night of volleyball!! Madison took three straight from William Monroe (25-23, 25-15, and 25-23), and #5 paid us a visit Here is a nice article on the night from ScrimmagePlay’s Ryan Yemen. Hmmm, seems we liked the same picture

After dropping the first game 23-25, Madison’s JV pulled together to win two straight (25-18 and 15-7) to take their match 2-1 over William Monroe.

Madison’s JV Football team lost to Fluvanna tonight 26-7. Madison’s only score came on pass over the middle from quarterback James Graves to tight end Sam Taylor.

Madison Volleyball picks up two wins over Orange

Madison varsity volleyball defeated Orange 3-2 tonight. Orange won the first game 25-18, but Madison came back to win the next two 25-16 and 25-11. Then Orange decided to push back my bedtime a little by winning the fourth game 25-16. Madison came out with an early lead in the fifth and final game and would eventually win the match as Samantha Cubbage celebrated her birthday with a kill on the final point of the match. (It wasn’t the photo below, but I liked this one better…..Sam framed by the blockers…..)

Madison’s JV volleyball team also defeated Orange with a 2-1 win. Madison won the first game 25-22, lost the second 14-25, and was down 13-15 in the final game but came back to win 16-14 and take the match.

Just playing with the sunlight coming through the windows in the photo below, a little underexposure made for an interesting photo…

MCHS Varsity Football at Orange, Benefit Game

Mountaineer Volleyball starts off their season with a win over Luray

Madison’s varsity volleyball team defeated Luray tonight 3-2 to open their season (25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 17-25, 15-7). From MCHSAthletics.com: “Samantha Cubbage had an outstanding game finishing with 12 kills and 18 digs. Amber Robson also had 12 kills to go along with 3 blocks and 5 aces. Jordan Aylor had 8 kills and 34 assists, Megan Clark had 17 digs and Chandler Gentry had 6 aces and 12 digs.”

MCHS Golf vs William Monroe and Charlottesville

Results from MCHSAthletics: The Golf team played a tri match at Greene Hills yesterday and finished in second place. Madison (170) beat Charlottesville (177) and lost to William Monroe (155). Kyle Davis shot a 9 hole score of 39 to lead the Mountaineers. Josh Honaker (41), Kevin Wells (44) and Luke Crouthamel (46) were the other low scorers.

Volleyball vs Fluvanna

Madison fans filled Wetsel Gym tonight in a benefit volleyball match vs Fluvanna in support of MCHS Junior Abbie White. Abbie suffered head injuries in a horseback riding accident several weeks ago. All of Madison’s proceeds from the games, including concessions, will go to the White family to help with medical expenses.

Mountaineer Challenge Volleyball Tournament
