Madison vs George Mason-Bull Run District Tournament FinalsMa

Madison somehow pulled out a 45-42 win over the Mustangs tonight to win the Bull Run District Tournament.  Coach Ben Breeden was elected Bull Run District Coach of the Year.  Madison has three players on the Bull Run First Team All District, Logan Terrell is Bull Run District Player of the Year with Jerel Carter and David Falk also being given first team honors.  Matt Garr received Bull Run All District Second Team honors. Bull Run District Semi-Finals at Madison

George Mason and Clarke started it off, George Mason held the lead for most of the game, eventually winning 48-42 over the Eagles.  George Mason advances to the Bull Run District Finals Friday night in Madison.  Click the picture below to see images from that game.

After a short ceremony honoring the seniors from all four teams, Madison played the Strasburg Rams in the other semi-final game.  Madison jumped out to a 16-0 lead before Strasburg finally scored.  Madison advanced to the District Finals with a convincing 73-31 over the Rams.  Click a photo below to see images from the Madison/Strasburg game and also images from the senior ceremony.

Ummm….more snow…

We lost power early Saturday morning, and finally got it back around 7:30 this evening (thank you Alleghany!!).  If you’re not tired of looking at snow pictures, here are a few more (click the picture below to see them)  Be sure to click through to the color ones, it was just GORGEOUS this morning as the sun came up.

Lady Mountaineers and Mustangs Play for the Cure

Madison Lady Mountaineers played the George Mason Lady Mustangs last night in the first of two “Breast Cancer Awareness” games.  Click the picture below to see a slideshow of “pink”.

Madison’s varsity girls took on the defending Group A State Champion George Mason Mustangs.  Madison jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but that didn’t last long, after a Mason timeout and a little yelling by Mason’s coach, the Lady Mustangs took over the game, eventually winning 60-28.  (click a photo below to see photos from the varsity game)
