MCHS Varsity Girl’s Soccer Poster, the 2011 version

Published by under girls soccer

We did this last year, and here’s the 2011 version.  We fought the wind a bit, you can see that in some of ‘light checks’ below.  You can click on the poster to get a larger version if you’d like some nice computer wallpaper, it should be sized about right for that.  You can click on any of the photos below the poster to see the gallery.  And, thanks to our sponsor this year, Bea and George Wells!

First light check, they weren’t paying attention for this one….

…after that one, Kayla started paying attention…  🙂

MCHS Varsity Softball vs Strasburg

Published by under mchs,softball,strasburg

Madison defeated Strasburg this evening 11-0 in 5 innings.  They had a 2-0 lead going into the third inning and with some nice hits…and some Strasburg errors, scored 9 runs in the third to take a 11-0 lead.  Jordan Aylor got the win on the mound allowing only two Strasburg hits and a couple of walks and a bunch of K’s.  Freshman Lauren Seale finished off the game on the mound in the final inning striking out two.

MCHS Girl’s Soccer vs Strasburg

Published by under girls soccer,mchs,strasburg

I’m assuming the varsity girls won today.  They had a 4-0 lead when I left to go to softball with about 15 minutes left to play.  Samantha Cubbage scored two first half goals and one in the second half.  Lindsay Aldridge added another second half goal off a header from a corner kick by Mary Margaret Gaylord.

Lots of scoring in the JV girl’s game, Quinn Snow (2), Courtney Pooten, Brooke Crouthamel, Savannah Bench, Megan Wright, Vanessa Long all scored first half goals making it 7-0 at half time.  Brianna Heath and Megan Wright added second half goals to make the final score 9-0 ending the game about 15 minutes early by the slaughter rule.

Sheridan Santinga played in goal today and made a nice save towards the end of the game to secure the shutout.

2011 Relay for Life Easter Egg Hunt and Air Show

Published by under Relay for Life

Yeah, those planes were pretty cool!  We all want one now 🙂  (click on any of the pictures to see the entire gallery or buy images, all money will be donated to Relay for Life)

And no, those aren’t dust spots on my sensor, this plane actually dropped candy just before the Easter Egg Hunt!!

She had so many eggs in her basket that each time she picked up another one….one of the others fell out 🙂

A GUY won the best Easter Hat contest!

Snoopy flew his dog house around for a while….which is no mean feat considering how hard the wind was blowing!  I’m pretty sure dog houses weren’t meant to fly!

They’re posing for the Eagle…

MCHS Boy’s Soccer vs George Mason Mustangs

Published by under boys soccer, george mason, mchs

Madison’s varsity boy’s soccer team lost to George Mason 5-1 today.  It started off close, Mason had a 1-0 lead at halftime.  They scored again early in the second half, but Luke Crouthamel brought Madison back within one scoring with a header off a corner kick…but that 1 goal lead didn’t last long.  Mason scored 3 more rather quickly to take the game.

I got to the JV game a few minutes late, saw a PK about to happen and thought I might get a nice diving goalie shot, so I just grabbed a camera and started shooting.  Happens it was still set on manual and ISO 1000 from the baseball game the night before.  Needless to say the photos were a bit overexposed for daylight!!  The kick went high, so no diving goalie….but actually like my mistake!

The JV boys lost 4-2.  Madison’s two goals by Daniel Richards (below, just blooped it right over the goalie’s head) and Luis Herrera off a PK.
