MCHS Varsity Football vs Central Woodstock

Published by under central woodstock,football,mchs

Senior Night….rained the whole time, mixed with snow…and lost a close one to Central 17-14.  Good game by Madison, even if the score didn’t end up the right way.  First Madison score on a pass from Dustin Farmer to Travis Warren.  Second score on qb keeper by Dustin Farmer, set up by an earlier interception by Mo Gentry.

Cheerleaders did their dance routine at halftime despite the rain...

MCHS Cross Country – Bull Run District Championships at Rappahannock

Well, didn’t look at the schedule….didn’t know the boys ran at 4:00 pm, so I was there too late for them. I thought everything started at 5:00 pm like usual. So, we got there just as the gun went off for the girl’s race. Madison’s Caitlin Shilan and Katie Berry both qualified for next week’s Region B meet, finishing 10th and 11th, respectively. (also shot a bit of the “developmental” race, those photos are in the gallery with the girl’s race photos).

Katie Berry and Caitlin Shilan

Strasburg's two time defending State Cross Country Champion Katlyn Ayers won the girl's race in a time of 19:14.

Beaver Creek Lake

Published by under landscape

Did a family session over near Crozet this afternoon. We started here at the lake, then went to their nearby farm. Of course, the sun was up when we were at the lake. When I left, just after dark, as I came back by the lake, I was rewarded with this scene. It was actually raining at the time….but I felt it was worth it to get a little wet 🙂

MCHS Volleyball vs William Monroe – “The Walkout”

Published by under mchs,volleyball,William Monroe

Some things I learned tonight:

  1. Madison has now defeated William Monroe twice this season, and is now 11-1 in Bull Run District play, with two matches left to play.  That’s probably the most important thing.
  2. If you yell too loudly at a volleyball match….even if you’ve been doing it all season….you will be thrown out of the gym.  Volleyball will probably soon be like golf, before the other team serves, some guy will hold up a “Quiet Please” sign so that we don’t disturb the server’s concentration.
  3. It’s okay to walk on the gym floor if you’re going to get food, or are bringing back food.  You can walk behind the server while she is serving, and behind or beside the court when the ball is in play.  However, it is not okay to chest bump between points…..even if you’ve been doing it all season long.  If you do chest bump between points, you will be thrown out of the gym.
