Inaugural Leprechaun Launch 5K Obstacle Race and Kid’s Obstacle Course

Published by at 1:13 pm under Leprechaun Launch

WOW.  That was fun!  So, this is going to be a LONG post.  Today’s 5K race was a fundraiser for the Madison Primary School Playground Drive (click the link for more info)(click on any photo to see the entire gallery).  (HERE are a few of the sunrise photos a little larger.)

The day started with an awesome sunrise…

There was an obstacle course set up for kids aged 5-9. Ben and Travis tried out the course beforehand….

I’m thinking I should have sponsored Ryan and Drew…Thanks guys!! 🙂

Leprechaun Fran Roebuck, with her starting horn, and MPS principal Mike Allers…just before the start of the race.

Drew seemed to get a little overly excited as Valerie Miller announced the obstacles that would be on the course 🙂

And…they’re off….I think around 80 competed..

I’m thinking….MUD under this next year???? Pretty please?

Chuck Love came in first overall, with a time around 22 minutes, I think. Julia Wood, 13, pictured here, was first for the ladies, and I believe she was only about 20 seconds behind Chuck. That’s FAST!

Ben and Luke, also VERY FAST!

Mr. Young and his daughter…lots of parents running with their kids. That was cool!!

Jon James blasting some tunes…

Fran, and MANY volunteers, kept the runners on course.

Head first was the way to go folks.

BEST. PICTURE. EVER!!

The winners, overall: Chuck Love (back, in orange) for the guys, and Julia Woods for the ladies.

I believe times and results will be on the MPSPlayground.com website in the next day or so.

Thank you Richard! It was really a fun event. I’m already looking forward to next year. I’m hearing “more mud” for next year, and that’s going to be a really good thing for pictures!! 🙂
