Another nail biter in Madison!  The Region B quarter final game between Madison and William Campbell remained scoreless until the bottom of the eighth inning, when senior Casey Racer scored Kaitlin Aylor on a walk off single giving Madison the 1-0 win.  Sophomore pitcher Lauren Seale went the distance on the mound for the Lady Mountaineers, allowing only two hits.  Madison will travel to #2 seed Central Lunenburg on Wednesday for the Region B, Division 1 semi final game.  Game time is 6:00 pm.  (click any image to see the gallery from the game)

MCHS Varsity Softball vs Central Woodstock-Bull Run District Tourney Semi Final

Madison held the lead, through light rain and thunder, up until the top of the sixth inning when Central went ahead 3-2.  Central kept that lead into the bottom of the seventh.  With one out, Madison senior Anna Kelliher singled.  Abby Erb came in to run for her.  Sam Atwell put down a nice sacrifice bunt moving Abby to second, and eventually third.  Freshman Raegan Clatterbaugh worked the count to full and then walked, and stole second.  With 2 outs and an 0-2 count, sophomore Kaitlin Aylor hit her second double of the night, scoring Erb and Clatterbaugh, and giving Madison the win.

Madison advances to the Bull Run District Tournament finals and will play at Clarke tomorrow night.  UPDATE:  Madison lost to Clarke in the finals, and according to this link, Madison holds the #3 seed in Division 1, Region B and will host William Campbell on Monday night at 6:00pm.

Kaitlin "Flea" Aylor doubles in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Madison a 4-3 win over Central Woodstock in the Bull Run District Tournament Semi Finals. After 2 doubles tonight, including the game winner, I'm not sure "Flea" is an appropriate nickname anymore 🙂
